I have long been entranced by the mighty narwhal, or, as I sometimes like to call them, the great unicorns of the sea. but I’ve never seen footage of them actually displaying their awesome mightiness until now. huzzah!

a wonderful list of bad country song titles here. some of them aren’t “bad,” per se, but rather hilarious and a credit to the comedic/poetic genius of their authors.

I’m partial to “Redneck Martians Stole My Baby,” “She Made Toothpicks Out Of The Timber Of My Heart,” and of course the classic “You Done Stomped On My Heart (and You Mashed That Sucker Flat)” with its infamous lyrics “You done stomped on my heart, you broke it all apart/Sweetheart, you just sorta stomped on my aorta.”

morris dancing

have you ever seen morris dancing? well, I have. and it’s terrifying. it consists of jolly teams of absurdly dressed british men and women with short little pants and pieces of colorful cloth and bells tied to their knees. they skip about in a circle, waving hankies, and then they bang sticks (or, as in the one rollicking ballyhoo I witnessed, rolling pins) together, accompanied by a accordion.
